It’s a new week, launching a new year, so today’s publish will be full of random thoughts and meandering musical musings.

Do You Remember …?

Before there was Garbage, there was Angelfish. They popped up during some random listening and seemed a fitting for a musing share. Their self-titled album came out in 1994. And this may be blasphemous, but I think I like them better than Garbage. Cringing in preparation for you coming at me!

Found in 2023 …

I found so much new music once I joined Threads. The thriving and positive music community bolstered my avid listening and need to seek out new music.

Here’s a little mix of five artists I found in 2023, who I will be diving into even more deeply in 2024. Some are new, like Brigitte Calls Me Baby, while several are “new to me,” as I was late to the party when it came to Japandroids and Jake Bugg. What new, or new to you, music did you discover in 2024?

This Publication in 2024!

I have three paying readers. THANK YOU. Two monthly subscribers and one founding follower. I need to to something special in appreciation of these wonderful individuals, while still showcasing new music in a way to slightly benefit the artists.

I’m under no illusions, or delusions, that my very new publications and weekly playlists gain that much recognition for the artists I showcase. But even one new listen can find an artist a new forever fan. So, the publishes that showcase new artists, Two For Tuesday, Threepeat Thursday, and New To My Liked List will remain available to free subscribers.

I’ll be creating special content for my paying subscribers. Starter lists, deeper dive compilations, blasts from my music past, and MUCH more.

The goals is to publish 5-7 days each week, depending on my work schedule.

Podcast?

After running a poll on Threads, I’ve come to the conclusion that many of you would be interested in me running a podcast based on my eclectic random listen lists, as well as deep dive and starter list compilations.

So, it WILL happen. But it will be a few months away. I need to line up guests. And decide on starter list and deep dive artists and bands. I also need to get the right equipment to do it well.

I’ll keep you informed. I’ll be launching a sign-up form this week for anyone interested in being a guest.
