Hi there. Happy Sunday.
It’s been several weeks since I’ve shared a starter list and I’m hoping this is the week I get back on track with my publishing schedule. I know I don’t “HAVE” to post a certain amount, but I WANT to, and it’s bothered me that I haven’t been able to keep on top of my publishing plans.
You’re not here about that, though, are you? No. You’re here for some music.
Music From Mirah!
I’m not sure exactly how my first Mirah listen came about. If I had to guess, I’d say I found her on CDBaby, which was my go-to spot for new music in the early 2000’s. I do know that she didn’t send me a CD (these were the years I ran a fairly well known indie music review blog). I found her on my own.
I do know I loved everything about her, right from the start. The plaintive and angsty, as well as the fun and flirty. Her debut album, You Think It’s Like This But Really It’s Like This, had it all. I had it on repeat listen for weeks.
Mirah has the ability make you smile, make you contemplate, make you think, and then go right back to smiling. It’s a lot to ask from a single artist, but she always delivers.
The songs included in this starter playlists are my favorites, my go-to listens after all these years. It’s hard to believe her debut is heading toward its 24th birthday. But it’s stood the test of time, as has the rest of her discography.

Was Mirah music already part of your liked lists? If so, did I hit a few of your favorites? If not, will you be adding a song or two for future listens? Who would you like to see featured in a future starter list?
Thrilled to share another listen with you, Lou!
Thanks, Mallie. Another new one for me. I really love Jerusalem!
