On Thursdays, we THREEPEAT.
And since we’re leading up to my favorite holiday, and want to spread good will, cheer, and new music, I’m sharing three songs, each, from SIX artists.
Let’s dive right in, shall we.
Alyssa Bray leads off. She’s a chanteuse, singing over sonic soundscapes. It’s ethereal, but still bold. Her voice is the engine that powers these songs. “300 Feet” is my favorite. I like the punchy percussive feel of it.
Next up, we’ve got J.Robot. If you love ‘80s new wave with a futuristic something-something adding extra energy, you’re in for a fun listen. Synth-driven, these songs allow you to flashback to music past, while still adding new listens to your liked list. I especially enjoyed the cover of “Shattered Dreams.”
On to our third artist, Kamuke. We’re making a big genre jump here, as the music is fueled by ukulele. It’s jangly and fun, and also unexpected. It’s a fantastic addition to my liked list, and a broadening of my music horizons. I think “Buddy” is my favorite. I like the energy and jangle.
Launching the second set of three artists is Daring Coyotes, fronted by David Clark Carroll. We’re diving into bluegrass now. These acoustic tunes are a real treat for anyone who appreciates masterful acoustic guitar play, and banjo, too. “When I Get Out” is my favorite of the bunch.
We’ve got melodic and dreamy pop up next, via The Flashcrackers. It’s mellow and fluid, but never formulaic. The vocals are emotional, but soothing. This is the kind of music I’d choose after a long day, or to start off a mellow Sunday morning. The best of the trio, IMHO, is “Paper Swallows.”
And we round out the list with Lodge Cove Collective, an alt-country outfit out of the Midwest. The vocals grabbed my first. The male vocalist has a gritty, but tuneful delivery that I felt in my gut. And the female vocals are clear and crisp, providing perfect harmony and a pop of smoothness to the gritty sound. “Next To Nowhere” is the track that caught my ear.
I hope you’ll listen and let me know what you think. Hopefully you’ll add a few songs to your own playlists and share a little good will toward these fantastic musicians and vocalists.

I'm 0-for-6 on knowing these artists (or 6-for-6 on discovery?). Especially looking forward to checking out Lodge Cove Collective--I'm always looking for new stuff from this part of the world.
Too bad that Kamuke guy couldn't speed that "Supersonic Rainbow" up a little bit. Whew! Loved it!
