Good morning. Happy Thursday. On Thursdays I either threepeat or throwback. After a brief break from publishing, I’m doing a bit if both today!
Let’s dive right in!
Three Songs, Three Artists
I’ve been taking part in several music “challenges” on Threads. One involves sharing formative albums that have played a decided role in the development of my taste in music.
While a few of my shares were repeated by other participants, I did share a few outliers. Including The Hooters. Nervous Night is a no skip listen for me. It’s an incredible album that deserves a lot more recognition and playlist love. They’re the “blast from the past” artist this week. I’ve chosen some of my favorite “less-played” tracks.
I was late to the Eternal Summers party. Very late. As in years after their last album in 2018. But once I stumbled upon their sound I became a true fan. I love the combination of bored indifference and angst which play against each other on quite a lot of their songs. You never know if you’re going to calm down or pep right up while listening.
And I’m rounding out this week’s threepeat/throwback combo with a band that’s been around for a while, but are still putting out music, Cloud Nothings. I fell in love with Attack On Memory, particularly “Fall In.” And I’ve been hooked ever since. It was really hard for me to choose just three songs. Fair warning, I may not have selected your favorites!

Thanks again for understanding my brief publishing pause. I’m working to get posts scheduled ahead so I’m prepared the next time work goes nuts. What say you about today’s nine songs?
I love Eternal Summers! So glad to hear from another fan.
But I don’t know The Hooters. Excited to check them out!
First of all, please don’t apologise for your output (or lack of it) I don’t know how you manage to put out so many play lists every week and they are definite worth waiting for until you have the time!
Secondly, this was a great play list. These three bands are all new to me and I LOVE the Eternal Summers tracks. I’m now investigating Nicole Yun’s solo album from last year. It’s promising so far.
This has also inspired me to revisit some albums that I listened to continually in my mid-teens but have fallen by the wayside in the years since. First up is Here Comes The Groom by John Wesley Harding.
