Good morning. Happy Thursday. This first week back to work, for many of us, is almost over, but a full work week looms in the too near future.
The only remedy is MUSIC!
Carabyll
We launch the list with Carabyll, a singer songwriter from Eastern Germany. Many of you know of my obsession with German band, AnnenMayKantereit, so that may be the reason Carabyll has popped up in my Release Radar playlists several times over the last few months. She sings in English, so you’ll get to appreciate both the musicianship and lyricism. It packed a punch for me. I hope it does for some of you, too.
Young, Define
Next up, we dive into some power pop goodness, courtesy of Salt Lake City’s Young, Define. They describe their genre as “bummer rock.” The definition makes me thing of Smoking Popes, and while the trio doesn’t sound like SP, there’s the same melancholy appeal. I like the vocals, they’re poignant without whining. The music is catchy and I found myself tapping my toe in time. They currently sit at a lowly 73 listeners a month. Let’s bump that number up!
Kyle James
Rounding out this week’s playlist is Kyle James, from New England. I stumbled across “Throw Hands” during a deep dive listen into another artist. And I was hooked. I love emotional guitar rock and that’s exactly what Kyle delivers. With a series of singles available for listening, there’s balladry, pop, and rock in an appealing combination.

Please let me know if any of the artists showcased made your liked list!
I am, once again, 0-for-3 here. Only in music discovery would that be a good thing! Will check out all three here shortly!
Streaming now some Young, Define. Right up my alley. Thanks for the recommendation.
