On Tuesdays we listen in twos. Maybe it’d be better to say that Tuesdays are reserved for sharing two songs from either new to me artists, or from artists I love so much I just can help sharing them for all to listen, love, and appreciate.
Today’s a new to me, and maybe to you, kind of Tuesday.
Today’s playlist showcases three “new to me” artists.
Skeletal Family somehow slipped past me during the nineties and if it wasn’t for azgrooveguy, a Threads friend, they would have remained woefully lost to me. Think Pretty Girls Meet Graves mixed with Siouxsie & The Banshees and you’ll get the vibe. Dark, moody, a little frantic, and oh so good!
Next up, we’ve got two rocking listens from The Pinx. This is not the type of music I generally seek out, but it was shared with me and I know it will appeal to fans of guitar driven rock with a 70’s and 80’s retro appeal. Don’t let the guitars mask fantastic vocal harmonies. Let me know what you think!
And the list is rounded out with Michigander, another recommendation from a Threads music enthusiast. The tempo slows down and the feelings and vulnerability hit you in a wave. This singer beckons you to “come on back to me,” for repeat listens. It’s soft and atmospheric. It’s the kind of music that makes you close your eyes and remember the early days of your relationships old and new.
I hope you’ll give all three sets of “two-tunes” a listen and let me know what you think. And if you like the artist a whole lot, figure out to benefit them directly. I ordered the Michigander EP and can’t wait for it to arrive and find its home in my vinyl collection!
