Good morning. Happy Tuesday.
First, I apologize for the lack of a Starter List this Sunday. It was the last day of my mini-staycation after more than a month of excessively long workweeks, and I decided to keep the day as simple and relaxing as possible.
Not that it’s a slog or hard work for me to share music with you. But it does require thought and care, and if I can’t give that to a post on a certain day, I’d rather not publish than send something lackluster out for all to see.
On Tuesdays We Two For!
This week’s artists are new or new-ish finds for me. The overall theme is driving rock, mostly dirty, sludgy, edgy and a bit menacing. Not my every day vibe, but apparently it’s the sound that got my attention over the last week!
We start off with jangly guitar and harmonica goodness from We Are Only Human Once. Great band name, too. Let’s get this Ohio band a few more monthly listens!
Next up is SPRINTS. They’ve been mentioned on many a Threads post, so I took the time for a listen. “Heavy” is just that. The addition of sinister and husky female vocals provide an extra edge.
Man of Moon comes in for the third spot, though these weren’t added in any particular order. They’re Scottish, so they entered my listening zone during one of my deep dives into Scottish indie. There’s something about the lilt and lyrical delivery that works so well with the pacey rock rhythm and guitar.
Next up, Glitterer, out of Washington D.C. While the pace is a bit slower here, it’s still rock. And it’s fuzzy and sludgy and all the things I like in my indie rock listens.
We round out this Tuesday’s list with Isaac Nielson, a late entry, but an obvious choice as soon as I heard “Flying.” This talented Brit is going places. I’ve said it, so listen and share, so I don’t end up caught in a lie!

That’s it for this Tuesday compilation. I hope I hit on at least one new listen that gets you clicking and adding to your own liked lists.Any standouts? Anything grab you? I’d love to know!
I love Sprints! It’s a great album. I think my favourite track is probably “Literary Mind” but “Up and Comer” is a great choice too.
I’ve not come across Isaac Neilson before but will definitely be giving him more of a listen. Thanks as always, Mallie.
So glad you highlighted Sprints! My favorite new band last year. Album is very good, but don’t miss their earlier releases - Little Fix, The Cheek, How Does the Story Go?, Swimming, Manifesto — all just so great.
