It’s Tuesday. Are you ready for several couplets from new, or new to me, artists? I hope so.
The style of this weekly post and playlist, much like my Threepeat Thursday posts, isn’t going to change. It will remain focused on getting ears on newer, or less heard, artists and bands.
What may change is its frequency. It may continue to publish each Tuesday, or it may become an every other Tuesday share. Time will tell. I’m still fine-tuning my themes and my schedule.
Two For Tuesday!
The list launches with Mattie Leon and his sweetly delivered, country tinged, sixties and seventies inspired creations. A dual threat on the guitar and piano, Mattie’s biggest draw is his voice. It ranges from sweet to melancholy, but it’s always the focus. As it should be.
We jump genres as we dive into the two songs from Pain In The Yeahs, and dive straight into electronic, darkwave, synth-driven goodness. Fronted by James K Ultra, the sound has been compared to Placebo, LCD Soundsystem, Depeche Mode, and Cold Cave. I’ll leave the comparisons to you!
We jump genres again when “Insane” by AYVA launches its guitar licks. With less than 600 monthly listeners, this talented youngster, she’s only fifteen, deserves the boost. Check out the two tracks she has out, and let’s hope she sticks with it and continues to grow as a musician and songwriter.
The rock with an edge continues with Stress Dolls. They’ve been on my radar for a while, gaining plenty of love from other artists on threads, most recently Dave Huulegard of Twelve Days in June. I don’t know why they haven’t appeared on a previous Two For Tuesday list, but it’s a shame it’s taken me this long. Enjoy the sultry vocals of Chelsea O’Donnell and a whole lot more. I sure did.
This week’s playlist rounds out with Sam Drysdale, a singer/songwriter who tells poignant stories. “Bonnie” really tugged at my feels. I can’t wait to hear the full Bonnie’s Sad Songs when it’s released. This up and comer is a must add to your playlists if you love a story song and glorious vocals.

Did this week’s list grab your attention? Did you add any new songs to your playlist(s)? Let me know what you liked, and what didn’t quite work for you. It won’t change who or what graces my own lists, but I love a good music discussion!
Ayva certainly has potential! And if the rest weren't exactly for me, at least I'm now aware of them. Cheers.
Loved this week’s list! AYVA and Stress Dolls have certainly grabbed my attention!
