While my main goals are simply to share music, I do want to do what I can to boost the listens of talented new artists I come across during my time spent discussing music on Threads.
With that in mind, I’m going to dedicate at least two weekly themed posts to lesser known artists I’ve discovered, through discussion and sharing on Threads. It won’t be the same two themes each week, as I like to mix things up.
I’m launching it with Two For Tuesday! But to keep you on your toes, I’m sharing two songs from three different artists/bands.
First up is a talented songwriter and singer named Gavin Harper. He submitted his single, “Undertow,” via one of my new listen requests and I knew I needed to showcase his talents. I’m having a hard time pinning down any single artist to use as a comparison. Maybe Briston Maroney? But, not really. Let me know what you think!
Next up, I’m sharing two songs from another singer/songwriter, Joe McCorriston. Hailing from Morcambe, he’s now based in London. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I get a bit of a Frank Turner vibe. And I’m there for it! I’d love to know if you hear it, too.
After two singer/songwriters, we’ll round out the Two For Tuesday shares with a band I stumbled upon after checking out some recommendations shared with other playlist making threeps. Formed in 2020, they have a distinct alt country sound and vibe, despite making their home and music across the pond in London. I’d compare the sound to early, more mellow, Old 97’s. Either way, I love it and these two songs, the only two singles available on Spotify, are getting repeat listens.
So, there you go. Two songs from three different artists. All new to me listens, and new additions to my liked list. Will you add them to your playlists? I hope so. And I hope you’ll take a few minutes to tell me what you think!
Interesting thank you.
