It’s Monday. Again! They sure are persistent and consistent. They show up every damned week, don’t they?
This week has me slammed, and I’m the one who scheduled myself so heavily. But it’s all good. Long story short, I’m making a return to small agency ownership/freelancing/entrepreneurship after a five-year return to the corporate space.
That means a website and new social accounts need to launch. AND, I have to create a ton of content that IS NOT music discovery content. Luckily, creating content is my jam. If only I could clone myself, though. Two of me? Mallie x 2? YIKES.
I’m determined to keep this publication running smoothly, no matter how many other tasks are added to my plate (by ME). I love this project and the fantastic music community making it possible for this publication to be seen! THANK YOU!
Hanging By A Moment
I was never really sure why this song, and the artist, Lifehouse, got so much hate. Great voice, nice sound, proficient with their instruments, decent production.
Was it the rumours that Lifehouse is/was a Christian band? No idea. Was it the fact the lead singer was a good looking guy? Who knows.
Either way, I refused to feel guilty for enjoying this song, and several other singles. You like what you like. Yuck my yum, I dare you!
It was a bit surprising, based on the guff I’ve taken for enjoying the band and this song, to see so many covers.
The Original & The Covers
There you go. The original + four covers. Was this song choice a hit or a miss for you? How about one of the covers? Did one make you listen even if the original isn’t your cup of tea?
Have a suggestion for a future multiple versions playlist and publish? Drop me a comment!
Agree on Lifehouse not deserving the hate. I think the song was just overplayed at the time. And, to be honest, I was an even bigger fan of the follow-up single, "Sick Cycle Carousel." Good stuff!
Torn might be an interesting one to look at--I think to this day a lot of people don't know that the Imbruglia version isn't the original.
