Agree on Lifehouse not deserving the hate. I think the song was just overplayed at the time. And, to be honest, I was an even bigger fan of the follow-up single, "Sick Cycle Carousel." Good stuff!
Bit late getting around to this. I’d never come across Lighthouse before but I have heard the Slow Pulp version when they released it earlier this year. That one is my favourite version here by some margin. I don’t find the song itself particularly exciting but I struggle to see why it should have become the object of derision.
On a side note I did a little investigation of Stillman and have to say I rather like his cover of The Middle.
As someone who saw Lifehouse live in their heyday, I appreciate this playlist. The best ones included that creaky guitar slide. Loved Slow Pulp’s tweak to the melody, as well.

Thanks for chiming in, Matt. I really liked “Everything” off the debut album.
Torn might be an interesting one to look at--I think to this day a lot of people don't know that the Imbruglia version isn't the original.
Great suggestion. I’ll add it to the list.

Hey! Thanks for listening and letting me know which cover you liked best. And I agree on the slide!
Gotta go with Slow Pulp. Also enjoyed Boyce Avenue.
The original isn't bad per se, it just wasn't for me. That said, the Slow Pulp version is great! I'd never heard it before.
Glad you found something that was “for you,” Kevin!
