Good morning. It’s the first Monday after springing forward into Daylight Saving and, let’s be honest, we’re all less than thrilled.
I figured we can combat the hour loss with music. I’m not feeling super chatty, so the amount of storytelling will be minimal.
“Making Believe”
I first came across this gem of a song on Social Distortion’s Somewhere Between Heaven And Hell.
Knowing that they put a cover on each album led me to the origin of the song. Kitty Wells. Actually, Kitty sang it, but Jimmy Work wrote the song.
I’m sharing four versions of the song today. All have a place in my liked list. I like them all, but I don’t like them all equally.

Which version is your favorite? While I’m fond of all four tracks, the Volbeat version narrowly edges out the original for the top spot.
Ohhhhh, I like this Kitty Wells original.
I had such a skewed musical upbringing that I didn't even know Social Distortion's version of Ring of Fire was a cover 🙄
The Social D version was the first one I heard, and I think I'm gonna stick with it as my fave. Love the Kitty Wells original, but I would have to be in the right mood to listen to it.
