Good morning. It’s another Monday, another lackluster desire to return to work, and another batch of music, musings and my mind’s meandering.
Look Back At Friday’s New Releases
It was a fantastic and fruitful Friday for music lovers. Standouts include:
Pick-Up Full Of Pink Carnations by The Vaccines
So good. I added eight of the ten tracks to my liked list. The first two single DID NOT over hype or under deliver. I could wax rhapsodic for several paragraphs, but that’s not the style of these Monday posts. Check it out! Standout tracks include: “Sometimes, I Swear” and “Love To Walk Away.”
“Pink Skies” by Giant Rooks
Fred Rabe and crew keep releasing funky pop gems. I’m here for it!
”Gone” by The Umbrellas
Nostalgia laced sunny pop. Enjoy!
“doomscrolling” by Kate Dineen
Heartache and sadness in a lovely listening package.
“Everybody Dies” by Superchunk
These guys have been at it for ages. And they haven’t lost their energy. They’ve stayed true to form and I’m thrilled!
Makeover Monday
I love a theme, especially when I can alliterate. Mondays are for makeovers, or covers! I have an ever growing covers playlist and I’ll share a handful of favorites every Monday. Love covers too? Let me know about your favorites!

Publishing Changes?
I’m feeling a little lackluster about the very forced publishing schedule I’ve set up here and on Threads. I’m likely to change things up a bit over the next few weeks. Nothing will go away.
So, Two For Tuesday and Threepeat Thursday won’t disappear. But they may only be featured here every OTHER week. I’ll still update the playlist weekly, and I’ve set them up to be edited each week, rather than making a new dated playlist, so you can keep up by following the playlist.
Starter lists will also remain, as will the weekly New To My Liked List share.
But I’m hoping to add Deeper Cut Discussions, interviews, and more.
Like I said, I’ll start rolling these out over the next few weeks!
THANKS FOR READING! What are your music listening plans for the week?
Mallie, regarding your publishing schedule - FWIW, in my experience there's nothing worse than taking something you love to do and making it feel like work or a burden because of a self-imposed schedule. If you're publishing Mallie's Eclectic Playlist as a fun hobby (and not hoping to build it into a serious business,) then definitely give yourself a break. Personally, I sometimes miss a week of publishing Eclectricity, and have no qualms about it since all of my subscribers are unpaid. I love what you do here and get a lot out of it, but you need to keep it fun for yourself! Just my two cents' worth. - Lee
As always, new songs for me to explore. Thanks, Mallie.
I just released my new album -- Dusted Off-- of covers, 9 of faves. Cheers. D
