Mallie, regarding your publishing schedule - FWIW, in my experience there's nothing worse than taking something you love to do and making it feel like work or a burden because of a self-imposed schedule. If you're publishing Mallie's Eclectic Playlist as a fun hobby (and not hoping to build it into a serious business,) then definitely give yourself a break. Personally, I sometimes miss a week of publishing Eclectricity, and have no qualms about it since all of my subscribers are unpaid. I love what you do here and get a lot out of it, but you need to keep it fun for yourself! Just my two cents' worth. - Lee
Thank you for sending this my way! I haven't yet had achance to respond, but wanted to say that I really dug your take on 'That's All Right' before too much more time passes.
I like the idea of mixing up your publishing schedule - will be easier for you and easier for the reader (or at least this reader, lol) to give your lively posts the attention they deserve!
Awwwwwwww. Thanks Jeremy. You'll note that I didn't publish anything this morning. Because I'm slammed at work! LOL. I'll get myself sorted and continue to write what, hopefully, you and I both enjoy!
How great is the Placebo version of “I Feel Love”?! It has been immediately added to my own Covers playlist, along with “Orinoco Flow.”
The first Birdy album is a treasure trove of outstanding cover versions. I particularly love her takes on “People Help The People” and “Fire and Rain.” Aside from that, two of my favourite covers are the We Are Scientists/ Art Brut (WASABI) collaboration on the Travelling Wilburys’ track, “Handle With Care” and the Joyce Manor cover of “Souvenir” by OMD.
Thanks, Lou. I have several Placebo covers in my Killer Covers playlist. I'll check out Birdy and the other covers you mentioned and let you know what gets an add! Thanks for all the great discussions and recommendations!

Thanks, Lee. I'm working toward a balance between structured and scheduled and the flip side of fun and off the cuff. I'm sure I'll find the balance!
As always, new songs for me to explore. Thanks, Mallie.
I just released my new album -- Dusted Off-- of covers, 9 of faves. Cheers. D

You're more than welcome, Dusty. I'll give your covers the listen they deserve this week!

Good lord! I remember seeing Superchunk in the ‘90s back in DC. So glad they’re still around!
Still around and still rocking it! Thanks for chiming in, Thea.

Thanks so much, Kevin. It was def filtered through my J.J. Cale lens.
Marika Hackman's new album came out Friday, haven't listened yet but I expect good things
I saw that and did a cursory listen. Need to do a deeper dive!
The new Superchunk is fantastic. Hard to believe they've been around as long as they have (or that I'm old enough to say that). Gah!
Truth. It's been years since college. When did I get so old? Well ... at least I still rock and the music keeps me young in spirit!
