I saw Gallus at a festival called Tenement Trail a few years ago, good choice! Also on my current Scottish indie playlist are The Snuts and the Shambolics.

I so wish I could see more of the Scottish bands I enjoy so much, but they don’t cross the pond all that often.

I’m very much liking Astrid here. Also, really pleased you included Retro Video Club. I’ve seen them a couple of times now and their live set is great.

There are so many great Scottish bands around at the moment and, as you’ve showcased here, all doing quite different things. A few worth mentioning, which you may well be aware of, are Dead Pony, Former Champ and Dictator. Also loving the Dancer album, 10 Things I Hate About You and their new single Priority Girl.

Love the post. Look forward to listening to some of those. For more Scottish indie bands of the moment, have you listened to Vic Galloway on Radio Scotland? He's perhaps inevitably a huge champion of the Scottish music scene past, present and future. I first heard Gallus on his show last year and love them! Here's a link if it helps https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0074hgc

Good stuff, as always, Mallie. I'm going to spend more time with Sons and Daughters (I assumed there are new and was surprised by how old the record is!) and Gallus. Thanks for sharing!

Best not to assume new with me, Dave. I like to look backward as well as forward when I look for new listens. So glad you enjoyed. Hope the new listens are just as good!

Will be checking these out. As much as I do love Idlewild and We Were Promised Jetpacks!
