Brigitte Calls Me Baby, The Umbrellas, and Hamish Hawk all just landed outside my top 20. Or maybe I had Hamish Hawk in my honorable mentions. I forget. So much music, so little time! I also was just turned on to Loma, and I have a feeling that would make the top 25 based on a first listen. I had no idea that Jonathan Meiburg from Shearwater was in the band. Another powerful album that I imagine is a grower.
It was a great album and her vocals were gorgeous, but it didn’t have enough tempo and tone changes to make it to the Top 50. I think our mutual Hazel English appreciation prompted one of our first conversations, LOL!
I have a lot of time for The Howlers. They are lovely guys and I think they’ve produced a great album here, but I agree with you it didn’t make the top cut for this year. I’m not sure I can articulate exactly why other than that there are other albums I want to listen to more.

I understand. I may re-up my Apple Music or Tidal subscription in the new year. But I'm entrenched with Sporify, so that one's not going anywhere.

I loved Loma's first album. This one just didn't hit the same!
