I think my fave Soft Cell track is "Sex Dwarf." I don't know a ton of stuff after that & "Tainted Love," though.

Separately: I'm all for mixing things up!

Appreciate it. And I hope you added a few more Soft Cell gems to your playlist!

Yay! And judging from the number of reissues like the recent Non Stop Erotic Cabaret multi disc set with all the 12 inch mixes and demo versions, there must be a lot of Soft Cell/Marc Almond fans out there. Oh, I'd personally put "A Lover Spurned" on a short playlist, but everything you picked merits inclusion for sure.

Thanks, Steve. I had a feeling this band might prompt a response from you. It was hard to choose just five songs, so I'm sure you'll forgive me for missing one of your favorites!

Great list!

If i has to pick my five, it’d be 5) Sex Dwarf; 4) Loving You, Hating Me; 3) Tears Run Rings; 2)Say Hello... 1) Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go (8:00 Medley)

I love the mix/medley, largely because they’re not right on top of one another. But no feelings hurt if others disagree!

I always thought it was a mistake for Soft Cell to tack the cover of "Where Did Our Love Go?" on the end of "Tainted Love". The dark feel of TL was sufficient enough to stand on its own; and the cover, though clever in the days before mandatory nostalgia, undermined the vibe. Just my opinion.

It's an opinion many share, and there's always room for a well-written music opinion! Keep sharing them!

Thank you for celebrating Soft Cell so people realize that they had a number of great songs. As a queer band, they are on my list to write about as well. Well done!

Thanks! I love them and I love looking back to past decades for music gems that newer music fans may have missed out on. Can't wait to see your write-up!
