Totally agree with you that Sea Girls are reminiscent of the Killers. I have to say I haven’t given their third album much listening. I loved their debut and I enjoyed the follow up (I actually think Paracetamol Blues might be their best song) but I just don’t think their sound has moved on enough to warrant a third record. I feel the same about bands like The Sherlocks and The Reytons. Whichever album you come to first is great but you just don’t need all of them.

October Drift are a brilliant live band. I’ve loved their sets both times I’ve seen them and I do like this album but it’s not one I’ve wanted to come back to very much.

I think I might be the only person on the planet that doesn’t rate Wunderhorse either. I do like some tracks but their albums as a whole leave me cold. I saw them headline last year and they supported Declan McKenna earlier this year but both times I felt a bit of a disconnect so I just don’t think they are really for me.

I’ve still not listened to Cowboy Carter. I am finally going to put that right though. Oh, and I listened to Paul Bunyan’s Slingshot after yesterday’s piece and I thought it was great. Looking forward to seeing what’s made your top 10 - fairly confident I know at least one of them!

I think I may have stumbled upon several English bands that you've long known, but don't feel like they've continued to evolve their sound. It's probably what I have so many British bands in my Top 50.

Thanks for chiming in on Dean Lewis. His voice is gorgeous, but I did worry about losing a few indie street cred points!

Let me know if you check out Joe P. I'd love to get your take!

You’re the best!

Oh, and I can’t wait to see if you guess two Scottish artists in the Top 10. IO know I’ve mentioned one, but the the second was a late listen and addition, so we’ll see how attuned to my taste you really are!!!

Haha! Pressure! The band I’m thinking of isn’t actually Scottish. Going to put on my thinking cap.

I think I know. American, right? Somebody I was late to find, but really got into quickly? Maybe they just released their final album. LOL!

I think I know who that is! But that’s not who I was thinking of 😂 It’s an album from a British band we’ve discussed as being among our favourites this year.

Blame The Young is in my top ten albums this year. My favourite tracks are Wallflower and Heal. Can't wait to see them live for the first time next year 🤩

Oh! Should also add that I’ve also seen Dean Lewis live and he has a beautiful voice. I’ve not listened to the album but I love the variety in your top 50.

Cowboy Carter is the only record on here I've heard of- looks like I need to get back on Threads and see what I've been missing!

I’ve taken a bit of a break from Threads over the last two months. I was feeling a little burnt out. I’m trying to set a level of activity that I can maintain in 2025. Here. On Threads. On BlueSky. Etc.

I don’t want posting and commenting here to become a chore, but if I don’t set up a system, I’m going to fall off the wagon or face burnout!

It took me a few listens, but it grew on me every time.
